Skyfall – Review

18 Dec

Skyfall, can you be the best Bond film ever made? I think it has to be at least top 3 for all of you Bond lovers.

Giving up without giving in!

Giving up without giving in!

Loving action films like I do and expressing every emotion in the theatre, I always enter with high expectations wanting entertainment waiting to be mesmerized… well, this happened a lot in the movie, making this film in my humble opinion top of my list for 2012 and  I will tell you why.

Skyfall was organic and raw that felt as if we were in a vivid dream, so many things happen, so many risks taken and bold choices made as a director that a result like this nears ecstasy.

The growth of the character is one of the best I have seen on all the franchises, Daniel Craig took Bond and made him wild, rough and mature  (I hope they’re not thinking about changing him…), he is the bond we deserve in our generation.

Now, boys and girls, enter Javier Bardem, this guy is ridiculous, how can someone be so unbelievably good, I was and maybe still am in shock. Try to remember the last time you saw an actor deliver such a performance, to a role that is just an antagonist “drawn” that way? IT WAS HIM AND HE GOT AN OSCAR! Brilliant!

The movie delivered and will go down in history for money-making and legendary performances, Sam Mendes created an action masterpiece… why couldn’t they hire him for Iron Man instead of you know who?

As with everything perfect there are some flaws, it was family friendly and there was a scene that reminded me of Home Alone that cracked me up inside the theatre, the aerial views of the cities seemed to linger a little but in general a gift to my senses.

Great film.

PS: What do you think about the scene where Silva and Bond exchange some gay chemistry? HA!

There’s a lot of the old-school stuff here for Bond that will make die-hard fans go insane, but a lot of other cooler, newer stuff as well that definitely has me more amped up to see where this franchise takes itself. Good review.

Thanks, I am glad you liked it, the film without a doubt has set the bar high not only for Bond as a character but what do we do with a franchise to keep it current without overreacting and going in circles like some of the most resent ones.

Nice review, glad you thought Bardem was so good, I thought he was absolutely brilliant. Definitely one of my favourite Bond films.

Thanks, he is not a chameleon Bardem, but only with a new hairdo he can go places!
