Last Century – The Fight Club – 1999

10 May

Fight club is a cult movie with different kind of followers.

The girl: That special person who watches the movie just to see half-naked men, regardless of what is going on, don’t know, don’t care.

The Boy: That special person who watches  the movie just to see some fighting, regardless of why, don’t know, don’t care.

You think you know me? you have no idea!

The man: That special person who watches the movie to get some hints on how to look like the half-naked men, (to impress the girl), but wants to fight the boy she is with.

The woman: That special person who watches the movie hoping the man sitting next to her will look like the half-naked men on-screen, and wants to fight the girl (just like on-screen).

Who is this movie for?

This movie is for none of the above for sure, this movie is for the adult, who is sure of himself, who knows what he/she wants, who is not afraid of the unknown and takes risk, who is a fighter. Only trouble is, you and I know, NO ONE is aware of any of this until it punches you in the face. It lurks around you, all of your life, and when it is time to get out, it does.

Don’t despair, the real you is there, as with everything, the right trigger will set you free.

PS: Do I need to talk about acting and directing?…  they were AWESOME!! 🙂

If you haven’t already, read the book. It’s one of the very rare cases where the movie works better than the book in some aspects. Still love this movie, though.

I will follow your advice, I opted not to read it but if the movie is an improvement I will!
